Who am I?

My name is Indygo Smith, but my friends call me “Barbee” because I’m like a chameleon, always ready to adapt and take on any challenge. I’m a wife, a mom, and a serial entrepreneur. I host a podcast called “Black Girls Need Jesus,” which you can find on any podcasting platform. And let me tell you, I love God more than anything. I truly believe that He’s the source of all my passions.

When I was a little girl, I had a wild dream of becoming a model, actress, singer, dancer, doctor, and lawyer. I never thought there were any limits to what one could do. And guess what? I still believe that today!

My family is my everything. Becoming a mom was a game-changer for me. I have an 8 year old, a 5 year old and a baby on the way. My husband has been incredibly supportive of my dreams and ambitions. My sons are the sweetest and most supportive kids you’ll ever meet. I’ve been running an at-home daycare for years, spreading love and building a business that never stops growing. Helping single mothers provide for their families while creating a safe and supportive environment for their babies has changed me deeply. I want to ensure their health and safety while they’re in my care, and I want to make sure that if anything ever happens to them (God forbid), my little ones will be taken care of. I decided to become a licensed insurance broker so that my love would continue to support them long after they are out of my care.
